Networking:
Go in by battle and input each soldier’s state so that they could be easily categorized.
Topic Modeling:
In Voyant, we could make a word cloud based on the location of where the soldiers were from.
Text mining:
We could find out what soldiers were from which state, or which battles they fought in. It wouldn’t make the same connections and have the same level of detail as networking but would present similar information.
You might also consider doing basic word clouds on the material that the NPS already has posted OR on the materials that your group digitizes. Even basic word frequency charts would allow for another way to explore who is buried here and where they were from.
